Get ready for a showcase of innovation and industry trends at this year's Scrap Expo, set to take place in Louisville, Kentucky, Sept. 12-13.

Among the equipment to be demonstrated at the event, here are five new products to the market attendees can operate and view demonstrations.

Caterpillar MH3026 material handler

Irving, Texas-based Caterpillar has introduced the MH3026 material handler, specifically designed to excel in waste and scrap metal applications. Powered by the Cat C7.1 engine, the MH3026 incorporates an electrohydraulic system that balances power and efficiency, leading to optimized cycle times and enhanced material handling capabilities.

With front linkage options extending its reach to 43 feet, Caterpillar says the MH3026 offers versatility through a diverse range of attachments and reach configurations. Additionally, operational control is augmented by the presence of a ground-level shutoff switch that halts fuel supply to the engine for a more efficient shutdown. To further enhance performance monitoring and management, Caterpillar includes its Standard Product Link, a system that captures operating data such as location, working hours, fuel consumption, productivity, instances of idle time and real-time alerts for maintenance and fault diagnostics.

Harris GPS Series Predator

The Harris GPS Series Predator is touted as the swiftest and most potent scrap baler in its category, according to the company, part of Upland, Indiana-based Avis’ Industrial Corp.’s Recycling & Waste Equipment Division. This collaboration merges GPS Predator’s baler/logger performance with Harris' U.S.-based engineering and manufacturing expertise. Harris says the Predator’s three-arm compression system optimizes folding and bale/log weights, along with a robust frame for exceptional strength and compression force. Available in three configurations—stationery, transportable or fully mobile—the company notes the Predator is tailored to different operational needs.

Sennebogan 340 G telehandler

A compact telehandler for big tasks in recycling facilities and consumer mills, the Sennebogen 340 G combines compact dimensions with high performance, reach and an elevated cab for maximum view and safety, the Germany-based equipment maker says, adding that opperators can achieve much more with the 340 G than with a conventional telehandler or wheel loader.

Sierra T409 material handler

Bakersfield, California-based Sierra says its T409 material handler adds versatility and dependability to any scrap, waste or fiber operation. This 22-ton diesel material handler features a two-piece boom with a 32-foot reach with grapple on rotator. The T409 also features a front heavy-duty blade, two rear stabilizers and puncture-proof solid rubber tires. The T409 diesel material handler is equipped with a Cummins four-cylinder turbo diesel engine with 145 horsepower, which the company says is suited for the machine’s size, reducing consumption and operating costs.

This material handler works nonstop with speed and precision for maximum efficiency and comfort for the operator, Sierra says.

Vortex Roter portable baler

Italy-based Roter Recycling RR series shear/balers offer optimal solutions for compacting and shearing various ferrous and nonferrous metals. The models are adaptable to fixed or semimobile setups, which Roter says caters to diverse yards. These machines feature a diesel engine and remote control, and an intuitive 7-inch color touch screen panel allows operators to manage parameters, aided by a self-diagnostic system for fault detection. Safety is prioritized through auto shut-off security, alarms history, and maintenance planning databases, Roter says, adding that maintenance is hassle-free with easily accessible parts.

All these machines and more will be on display at Scrap Expo, available for demonstrations and for attendees to operate. Learn more and register here.
