The Paper and Packaging Board (P+PB), a Washington-based group that promotes the use of paper products and paper-based packaging, is seeking nominees for three open board seats.
The P+PB says one of the nominees is needed to represent its South region, while the other two can be from anywhere in the United States. Each of the board seats has a three-year term that begins Jan. 1, 2025, and ends Dec. 31, 2027.
Nominees should be “experienced industry members who can bring deep industry knowledge to the board’s deliberations and represent a range of product sectors including containerboard, paperboard, kraft and printing, writing paper and office paper,” the P+PB says.
The organization, which is backed by 48 U.S. manufacturers and importers of paper and board, has a mission to highlight how the sustainable nature of paper and board and the industry’s practices help contribute to a healthier planet.
Regarding potential nominees, the P+PB says its board encourages the nomination of diverse candidates including women, minorities, ethnicities and cultures who can bring different perspectives and ideas to the board’s deliberations and discussions.
Nominations are being accepted until May 24, with nominations submitted to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). That department will appoint new board members by the end of this year.
The P+PB's South region consists of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
