Leadpoint, the Arizona-based workforce solutions provider to the waste and recycling industry, has hired Atiba Ovid as vice president of finance and accounting, where he will oversee general accounting, financial planning and analysis and tax compliance for Leadpoint, reporting directly to Chief Financial Officer Dan Behrendt.
“As Leadpoint continues its upward trajectory in sales and profitability, Ovid's expertise will further enhance the company's financial performance by optimizing its working capital and order-to-cash cycles,” Behrendt says.
Ovid brings extensive experience in accounting, financial analysis, forecasting, data modeling and business analytics to the company, according to Leadpoint. He previously served as corporate controller at Rolfson Oil, where he managed the finance and accounting departments for the past two years. During his tenure, Ovid significantly increased free cash flow through strategic working capital enhancements focused on inventory control and accounts receivable optimization strategies, Leadpoint says. He also played a pivotal role in growing the company’s revenue by more than 300 percent through strategic planning, ensuring compliance with key controls, and oversight of financial audits.
In his career, Ovid has served as a senior financial advisor at Ernst and Young (EY) and a financial analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. At EY, he spearheaded implementation and training of its financial management system. He also gained international oil and gas accounting and auditing experience while working for the Ministry of Energy and Energy Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago.
Ovid holds a Bachelor of Science in business from Penn State University and a master's in accountancy from Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
He will be based at Leadpoint’s corporate headquarters in Phoenix.
