Genesis Attachments, a Superior, Wisconsin-based brand of the NPK Company, has released the GRP 480, a new hydraulic mobile shear it says has been designed exclusively for processing rebar.
“Developed in response to customer requests, the GRP 480 Rebar Processor features numerous bolt-on wear parts and surfaces for easy maintenance and jaw protection,” the company says.
The GRP 480 includes bolt-on, weldable lower tusks designed to work in tandem with weldable, replaceable piercing blades to efficiently sort and separate rebar bundles.
Additionally, a bolt-on plate on the cutting side of the upper jaw provides a replaceable wear surface and can help protect the jaw’s parent material, according to Genesis.
The GRP also features an extra-large pivot group designed to withstand the rigors of daily rebar processing and to provide maximum durability.
The new rebar processor features a 24-inch jaw opening with a 26-inch jaw depth and fits up to 48,000-pound carriers when second-member mounted and 90,000-pound carriers when third-member mounted.
Genesis Attachments designs and manufactures high-quality hydraulic shears, grapples, concrete processors and specialty attachments for the scrap processing, demolition, material handling and offshore decommissioning industries.
