Clearpoint Recycling, a recycling and waste management company based in England, has announced a contract with London-based polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycler Enviroo.
The contract requires Clearpoint Recycling to supply material to Enviroo’s new plastic recycling plant in Ellesmere Port, England. Clearpoint Recycling will deliver more than 30,000 metric tons of recyclable PET annually once the facility opens in 2027. The plant will convert discarded plastics into certified food-grade recycled PET (rPET) to meet the growing demand in the global market, Clearpoint Recycling says.
“The plant is a much-needed outlet for PET to be converted into certified food-grade rPET, which the U.K. market is crying out for,” Clearpoint Managing Director Mark Garrett says. “It aligns with the U.K.’s plans to implement a deposit return scheme on PET bottles in 2027, which we will be in a strong position to handle, ensuring market materials are secured.”

Clearpoint Recycling says the partnership allows it to use its U.K. network to implement a circular economy-focused supply chain solution and enables Enviroo to continually produce recycled polymers to meet legislation requirements faced by packaging producers.
“This landmark agreement with Clearpoint Recycling is a significant step forward in strengthening the U.K.’s circular economy,” Enviroo CEO Ahmed Detta says. “By securing a consistent, high-quality supply of PET material, we are ensuring that our facility at Ellesmere Port will play a crucial role in turning waste into valuable, certified, food-grade recycled PET. This partnership not only underscores our commitment to sustainability but also contributes to job creation in the community and innovation in the recycling sector. Together, we are driving a more sustainable future for the U.K. and beyond.”
According to Clearpoint Recycling, the deal’s scale marks a significant milestone for the company, reinforcing the role of supply chain specialists in facilitating the supply and sale of materials throughout the recycling industry.
“We look forward to working with our existing partners and invite offers from other suppliers to feed into the plant,” Garrett says. “This will be one of only three food-grade rPET facilities in the U.K. With Clearpoint responsible for the supply of feedstock into the facility and the sales out, it places us at the center of the circular economy. This will enable Clearpoint Recycling to continue to remain independent while investing in high-skilled roles across all business units.”
