Clearpoint Recycling Ltd. has announced an expansion in the continental European market with the opening of a sales office in Lithuania.
The company, which is based in Harrogate, England, and trades recyclable metal, paper, plastic and glass, says the move will strengthen its European presence and position it for further growth in a European Union market it says offers "unparalleled opportunities for scaling operations.”
“Expanding our footprint to Lithuania provides a gateway to Europe, something we have needed more than ever since Brexit,” Clearpoint Recycling Managing Director Mark Garrett says.
“Our core strategy is to source locally and sell globally—so it is important to be globally connected. Alongside this, our commitment to compliance, legal export and complete clarity and transparency will eliminate any uncertainty and poor practice within the industry. This move not only bolsters our ability to serve European markets, but also aligns perfectly with our growth ambitions.”
The firm reports about $18.7 million in sales annually and says the move has been made possible in part because recently it has seen a 20 percent year-on-year increase in sales volumes.
Clearpoint Recycling says Lithuania “champions business development and provides seamless access to European markets, and notes the country’s business first environment is ideally suited to support the company to grow and scale efficiently.
"The changes in National Insurance announced by the U.K. government in the last year’s budget has made growing [in] the U.K. increasingly difficult," Garrett says. "The landscape is totally different in Lithuania, and means we can offer significantly more opportunities, especially to younger people looking to enter the exciting field of recycling.”
At its new location, Clearpoint has appointed Miglė Vidžiūnaitė as sales team leader, saying she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role and will play a pivotal part in establishing the company’s presence in the region.
“I am thrilled to lead the company’s expansion into Lithuania," Vidžiūnaitė says. "The country’s progressive approach to business, combined with its access to the EU market, makes it an ideal location for a forward thinking company. I look forward to building a strong team here and contributing to Clearpoint Recycling’s continued success.”
This year, Clearpoint plans to recruit an additional 11 staff to support its forecasted growth trajectory.
