Gaughan, a 30-year industry veteran, returns to the recycling industry after serving as a director at Heritage Environmental Services in Indianapolis. “I’m proud of my time at Greenstar,” Gaughan says. “We built it from scratch into a $250 million company and eventually sold it, and now I’m back in the recycling industry.

“I have done business with Mid America Paper Recycling for many years, and I was always impressed with their operation and how they work,” he adds. “Being out of the recycling sector while I was at Heritage, I decided to get back into the business I have spent the majority of my career in. My focus is on new business development, and with my experience, I hope to assist the Mid America Paper Recycling team in growing the company.”

A graduate of St. Norbert College, De Pere, Wisconsin, Gaughan is based in Chicago and assists on the board of a plastics company.

“I welcome Brian to the MAPR team and joining our rich history of 97 years,” says Don Gaines, CEO of MAPR. “His 30 years of industry experience and extensive knowledge of the MRF [material recovery facility] and plastic industries will greatly help us realize our growth initiatives.”
