India-based recycling machinery producer Fornnax Technology has launched its new SR-200 HD dual-shaft primary shredder.

Fornnax says the SR-200 HD was developed in response to growing customer demand for high-capacity preshredders, and it boasts the highest input capacity model in the SR series of machines. The shredder is primarily designed for tire shredding applications, and can also be used for applications including high-volume municipal solid waste, wood pallets, industrial and commercial waste and more.

The new model replaces the standard SR200 model, with its primary target being large-scale recyclers and cement plants that require high-capacity machinery.

Features include a robust cutting chamber design with slow-speed shafts, producing up to 200,000 newton meters of torque and allowing the shredder to work with the most challenging materials; a quick shafts change system to enable the end user to switch from working in one application to another; and a design optimized especially for sites with a 25-ton-per-hour production requirement.

The company says the shredder’s higher capacity can be attributed to high RPM and torque, resulting in reduced manpower, electricity and wear costs. The shredder boasts a single-line system that delivers a high output equivalent to 3-4 smaller lines. Designed for sites requiring a 25-ton-per-hour production capacity, the new HD model delivers low cost-per-ton, high reliability, easy operation and increased flexibility for various types of tires, the company says.

Variants are available for various markets. The SR-200 with a disc classifier will produce 60 to 150-mm output sizes that can be fed to downstream equipment. SR-200 HD, equipped with a trommel screen, generates output sizes of 60 to 80-mm, while without a screen it produces output sizes up to 400 mm.

The shredder was introduced at the India Rubber Expo in Mumbai, where dignitaries including Ajay Shah, president of Reliance Industries; Vishnu Bhimrajka, chairman of India Rubber Expo 2024; Ravi Rathi of Rathi Rubber India Pvt. Ltd.; Chetan Joshi of Tyre Collection Australia; Rajan Subramanian of Vinora Industries; Paras Barasara of Valencia Rubber Tech LLP; Bipin Kumar Agrawal of Earthman Rubber Industries Pvt. Ltd.; Anil Rathi of Oyster Industries Pvt. Ltd.; and Manish Agrawal of Earthmet Resources Private Limited helped to unveil the model.
