Kenneth Williams, CEO and owner of The Shred Authority, has received the Rising Entrepreneur of the Year award at the recent Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management Alumni Conference. Williams was honored for transforming his Chicago-based document destruction and recycling firm into a thriving enterprise despite a tough economic climate.

The Shred Authority was founded in 2002. Williams bought and repositioned the company in 2005. The company provides document destruction, storage and other services to assist its customers in meeting privacy regulations.
The Shred Authority is an independently minority owned and operated document destruction company that is AAA Certified under the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) for on-site, off-site, micro-media and computer hard-drive destruction. Williams also serves as treasurer of NAID.
Since acquiring The Shred Authority, Williams reports having grown revenue and profits while consistently improving financial and operating metrics.
