Prices for sorted office paper (SOP) held steady from September to October in all regions of the United States, according to figures compiled by PPI Pulp & Paper Week and reported Oct. 7, 2013. The highest prices for this recovered paper grade were being paid in the Northeast and in San Francisco/Los Angeles. In both of these regions, SOP was trading in the $145-to-$155-per-ton range. The Midwest reported the lowest price for the month at $120 to $125 per ton.
