Recall, EVault Form Alliance
Atlanta-based Recall, a leader in document storage, secure document destruction, digital document management and data protection, and Santa Clara, Calif.-based EVault Inc., a Seagate Co., have announced a strategic alliance through which Recall will offer a range of EVault® data backup and recovery solutions. EVault Software, EVault Endpoint Protection (EVault EP), the award-winning EVault Plug-n-Protect backup appliance and the EVault Express Recovery appliance will be among the solutions offered. More than 35,000 customers currently use EVault software and services worldwide, according to the company.

“As one of the leaders in the data protection industry, Recall provides comprehensive solutions to customers looking to free up resources, meet recovery point and time objectives and/or store invaluable media in our highly secure, temperature-controlled vaults,” says Tom Fetters, vice president and general manager of data protection services, Recall. “Whether using EVault software to protect crucial data on a server or EVault Endpoint Protection to recover essential laptop or PC data, we’re confident in the capabilities of EVault as a best-of-breed data protection solution.”

EVault EP is an integrated cloud-connected backup, recovery and data security solution designed to protect endpoint devices such as laptops and desktops. EVault EP claims to control the valuable data spread across mobile workforces. It automates “silent” laptop backups; protects data through security capabilities, including local file encryption, remote data deletion, port access control and device tracing if a laptop is lost or stolen; and enables self-service restores.

“Building strong alliance partnerships with companies like Recall is imperative to EVault’s business goals,” says Terry Cunningham, general manager and president, EVault. “By leveraging Recall’s industry leadership in information management and the strong EVault solution set of data backup and recovery products, both companies stand to increase market share in data protection.”

The company, based in Norwood, Mass., recently signed a purchase and sales agreement to close on the old FedEx building in the Littleton Industrial Park, according to New Hampshire Division of Economic Development Business Development Manager Michael Bergeron, who assisted the company with its relocation.

Founded by President Kevin M. Low in 2002, SNS supports more than 70 managed clients and 350 active accounts around the world. Its services include data center hosting and co-location, storage and backup, disaster recovery, networking and monitoring, telephone support, IP telephony and managed services, including a global helpdesk.

“This is great news for the town of Littleton, and we were very happy to help this company secure a New Hampshire location,” Bergeron says. “SNS is a top-flight data center and they were certainly impressed with New Hampshire’s low tax environment, lower cost real estate and responsive state and local government,” he adds.

SNS’ Low says, “The state of New Hampshire and Littleton welcomed us with open arms. Michael Bergeron introduced us to all the local key players to make this move happen quickly, including the building landlord, Littleton Industrial Development Corp., Northern Community Investment Corp., Grafton County Economic Development Council, FairPoint Communications and Littleton Water and Power. I even got a surprise call from Gov. Lynch, all through Bergeron’s coordinated efforts.”
