The Northeast Recycling Council (NERC), Brattleboro, Vermont, along with the Northeast Waste Management Officials’ Association (NEWMOA), Boston, plan to host a one-day workshop on how to increase the use of recycled content in infrastructure projects on April 15 in Concord, New Hampshire. Partners for the event include the Northeast Resource Recovery Association (NRRA), the Maine Resource Recovery Association (MRRA), the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Transportation, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services and Department of Transportation and the New Hampshire Technology Transfer Center.
The workshop, Increasing the Use of Recycled Content in Infrastructure Projects, will provide attendees with insights and examples of practical applications, NERC reports in a news release on the workshop. Presentations will address plastic corrugated drainage pipes with recycled content, ground asphalt for roads, use of crumb rubber in roads and processed glass aggregate.
According to NERC, the workshop will be beneficial for department of transportation employees, department of public works employees, state recycling professionals, environmental professionals, recycled-content advocates, plastics recyclers, community recycling leaders and recycling market development professionals.
The workshop costs $75 per person and includes lunch. According to NERC, the registration deadline is March 31.
