Metso Contracted by U.S. Paper Company to Rebuild Paper Machine

Domtar hires Metso to rebuild paper machine at Plymouth, N.C., mill.

Metso, with North American headquarters in Columbia, S.C., has been contracted by Montreal-based Domtar Corp. to rebuild its fine paper machine at the company’s Plymouth, N.C., mill for fluff pulp production. The rebuild project will be completed in the fourth quarter of this year.

 

Metso's delivery will include a new wet end and a rebuild of the finishing equipment needed for fluff pulp production. The scope of supply includes a new wire section, a headbox equipped with a profiling system, a steambox, a new press section, and dryer modifications including a new hood as well as reel and winder rebuilds.
