Cornerstone Records Management LLC has completed the acquisition of the assets of The Better Shredder, a Denver-based provider of secure document destruction services for the greater Denver area.
“We are very excited about adding The Better Shredder to our rapidly growing presence in the Denver market,” says Cornerstone President and CEO Steven Sisney.
Cornerstone entered the Denver market in the summer of 2009 with a 44,000-square-foot facility in Aurora, Colo., dedicated to the storage of hard copy records. The company also opened an 8,700-square-foot electronic media vault in Denver. Both projects were built on greenfield sites.
“We have been very pleased with the ramp-up of our business in the Denver market,” Sisney says. “Our customers have been very pleased with the flexible and responsive service we are able to provide them.”
Sisney says the acquisition will expand the scale of Cornerstone’s Denver shredding operations. “We will continue to invest in this market in support of providing our local customers a complete array of record and information services,” he adds.
The acquisition of The Better Shredder represents the ninth acquisition completed by Cornerstone since June 2008. The company has a philosophy that seeks to incorporate organic growth as well as growth through acquisition.
Cornerstone, based in Columbia, Md., says it continues to focus on growing its business in the Southern California, Denver and the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets.
