Confidential Security Corp. (CSC), a Peoria, Ill.-based document destruction firm, has announced that it has recently passed its 10th consecutive NAID (National Association for Information Destruction certification audit. CSC is a charter member of NAID.

Tom Simpson, president of CSC, chaired the Certification Committee in 2000 and he volunteered CSC to be the first NAID member to undergo the audit and certification process. In 2000, CSC says it became the first NAID-certified document destruction company.

Simpson says document destruction firms initially were slow to embrace NAID certification. “I saw the value of certification right out the shoot,” he adds.

“We are proud to achieve our 10th NAID certification but even more to have been the first document destruction company to become NAID certified,” says Heather Fitzanko, CSC vice president. “NAID certification assures our clients that CSC is following the highest standards and maintaining the ‘legal chain of custody’ in destroying critical documents, micro-media, hard-drives and other materials, in line with growing legal mandates,” she adds.

CSC was founded in 1984 and services clients throughout Illinois. In addition to being NAID certified, CSC says that it was the first dedicated information destruction service in the United States to be registered to ISO Quality Management System standards.
