Inninois Company Changes Name to RhinoDox
Federal Record Storage MDMC, headquartered in Glendale Heights, Ill., has changed its name to RhinoDox.

The company says its new name is designed to differentiate it in the Chicago area document management market and to better reflect the document storage services it provides.

RhinoDox also has announced the introduction of DHS Total Recall document management software to its customers. In a press release, RhinoDox says DHS Total Recall provides an improved online customer interface for inventory management, updated invoicing and billing and an easier way to sign for boxes and files. It also offers improvements in the chain of custody of critical documents, the company says. With the new software, customers will be able to manage their own document inventories and records online with greater functionality and ease of use, RhinoDox claims.

RhinoDox, a family-owned business founded in 1913, provides a complete range of document management services, including document scanning, enterprise content management systems, secure document shredding, media vaulting and archival box storage.

RhinoDox is a member of ARMA International, AIIM International, the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and PRISM International.

ECycle Solutions Signs Deal to Acquire Quebec Electronics Recycler
The electronics recycling firm eCycle Solutions, based in Toronto, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Centre de Recyclage Électronique de la Montérégie (CREM), Quebec, Canada.

Upon closing, CREM will operate collection and consolidation activities from its two Quebec facilities in Montreal and Quebec City. The processing will be performed at eCycle’s facility in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec.

“Electronics recycling is a rapidly expanding market and the needs of customers are growing at an ever increasing rate,” says Jason Taite,president of CREM. “With the emergence of the Quebec electronics stewardship program in the next few months, our combined capabilities will allow us to best service the needs of our customers.

ECycle Solutions operates secure processing facilities in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia. The company works with electronics stewardship programs, OEMs, retailers and ICI (industrial, commercial and institutional) customers.
 

Round2’s Ohio Plant Receives R2/RIOS Certification
The electronics recycling firm Round2 Inc., based in Austin, Texas, has earned the Responsible Recycling (R2) Practices/Recycling Industry Operating Standard (RIOS) Certified Electronics Recycler designation.

Round2 is a subsidiary of Avent Co., a distributor of electronic components, including connectors and semiconductors, within Avenet Integrated.

Round2 was certified following extensive audits at its Grove City, Ohio, processing center. Round2 also holds R2, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications at all of its other North American processing centers.

R2/RIOS combines two industry standards. The R2 standard establishes a hierarchy for the safe and responsible handling of electronic scrap through reuse and resource recovery. RIOS, developed by the Institute for Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI), outlines a framework for a comprehensive, integrated management system.
 

Redemtech Becomes Canada’s First E-Stewards-Certified Recycler
The IT asset disposition firm Redemtech, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, has announced that its Guelph, Ontario, Canada, facility has been certified to the e-Stewards Standard, making it the first company in that country to be e-Stewards certified.

Redemtech’s operations in the United States and United Kingdom also are e-Stewards certified. Redemtech Canada’s Ontario facility also is ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certified, while the company’s British Columbia facility is in the process of completing these certifications .
