Jake, Connor & Crew, Kitchener, Ontario, has announced that it has changed its entire console product line to comply with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Phase 2 emission standards for the Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) to Reduce Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products as of November 2010. The state agency had set a Jan. 1, 2011, compliance deadline.
CARB Phase 2 standards for the ATCM call for formaldehyde emissions from products containing particle board to be restricted to 0.09 parts per million by Jan. 1, 2011. The standard also calls for emissions from products containing medium density fiberboard to be restricted to 0.11 parts per million.
Patrick Connor, president of Jake, Connor & Crew, says, “In our continuing effort for product and service excellence, these modifications will be at no additional cost to our customers. We are proud of this environmental innovation to our console line, which couples well with our environmentally focused, fully recyclable wheeled bin line.”
