Willamette Industries' board of directors
approved the construction of a corrugated box plant in Oklahoma City;
relocation and modernization of its Kingsport, Tenn., cut sheet plant; and
authorization to pursue a pulp mill modernization at the Albany, Ore., paper
mill.
The Oklahoma City project will serve the
company’s existing customers in the area. The Tennessee plant will move to a
nearby site. A building will be erected to house a new sheeter. The Oregon pulp
modernization project will not increase the mill’s capacity, but will allow the
mill to meet EPA’s Cluster Rules.
The company also announced that it named Kevin
Igli vice president of environmental affairs.
