Cintas Acquires CodeShred

Cincinnati-based Cintas Corp. has acquired CodeShred, a document shredding company based in Valley Stream, N.Y., that services New York City, Westchester, N.Y., New Jersey and Connecticut.

Cintas also has announced that it has received a license for its New York City document management operations from the Business Integrity Commission (BIC). According to a Cintas press release, the license confirms that Cintas’ personnel and document management locations meet the stringent requirements set by the BIC.

“We are dedicated to servicing the greater New York area and providing businesses with services held to the highest standard of security,” says Edward Delamater, senior director of operations for Cintas. “Receiving our BIC license and acquiring CodeShred further enable us to provide secure and efficient document management services to a greater number of New York area companies.”

As a result of acquiring CodeShred, Cintas says it has doubled its manpower and sales in the area. In addition, Cintas has expanded its shredding truck fleet to 20.

The BIC is a law enforcement and regulatory agency that oversees public wholesale markets in New York City. It works to ensure businesses compete fairly and conduct their affairs with honesty and integrity. For Cintas to earn its license, the BIC conducted an extensive background and criminal investigation to ensure the organization and its employees conduct business with good character, honesty and integrity, according to the press release from Cintas.
