MRF -- Material Recovery Facility

Matetial Recovery Facility
MATERIAL RECOVERY / COMPOSTING FACILITY

MRF - Material Recovery Facility. A site for sorting and separating rubbish and solid waste collected from sources such as households, commercial and industrial businesses. In material recovery, the MRFs primary function is performed by physically removing designated materials such as plastics, fibers, metals, and glass from the solid waste stream. As materials are sorted into individual products groups, other materials, such a "Green Waste", i.e. wood, lawn, hedge, and tree trimmings, are diverted in bulk form to other locations for use in compost making processes. The reclaimed products are baled and sold to secondary materials processors throughout the world. MRFs provide other environmental services by reducing the amount of waste going to landfills.

Modern MRFs, particularly those located in large industrialized metropolitan areas, may be designed to process over 1,000 tons of material every day. Depending upon the type of amount of waste being processed, they can include highly automated and sophisticated functions. MRFs in less densely populated rural areas, usually processing 100 tons or less of waste per day, are smaller operations with simpler designs. However, the majority of MRFs in the United States actually lay somewhere in between, processing several hundred tons of material per day.

Enterprise Company, as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) designs both the facilities and equipment for every type of MRF system using state-of-the-art technology. All equipment is built in our own manufacturing facilities located in Santa Ana, California. This allows us to control and respond to every aspect of manufacturing, from design and fabrication to installation and service. This also enhances our ability to deliver on time and within budget. Our design team professionals are never limited to pre-conceived approaches in design or development of any type of system. These important differences set us apart from our competition.
