Construction/Demolition Processing

The growth in construction has resulted in increased waste generation from both new building projects and the demolition of existing structures. Many of the materials that were simply landfilled previously are now valuable, marketable commodities. Items such as metals, drywall, plywood, and rubble can be sorted from the waste stream to offset disposal costs and/or generate revenue for the processors. Dirt, sand, and grit, which are oftentimes a considerable percent of composition by weight, can be easily removed by mechanical separation (screening) for use as road base or landfill cover material. Residual materials are landfilled after processing.

BHS designs, manufactures, and installs material handling and classification equipment for sorting this material.
