Zinc Oxide Corp. Vietnam has broken ground on construction of an electric arc furnace (EAF) dust recycling plant in the Ba Ria-Vung Tau province of that nation. The plant will cost more than $120 million and will have an annual capacity of 100,000 metric tons of EAF dust per year.
Lee Sung Chae, general director of the company, says the plant is expected to be operational by June 2019.
When operational, the dust recycling plant will be able to treat all the EAF dust generated in the province, which is where around 70 percent of all the steel in the country is produced, according to a Zinc Oxide Corp. news release.
