Zimmer America Recycling Solutions, Spartanburg, South Carolina, used the 2015 NPE event to showcase its automatic belt screen changer the Cofit Gorilla Belt. The product is manufactured by Italy-based Cofit International and marketed in the United States by Zimmer America.
Zimmer America says the belt is being marketed to extruders that use plastic materials, such as agricultural film and postconsumer plastics, as feedstock.
The Gorilla Belt “can handle even the most contaminated materials,” Zimmer America says. The filter system involves automatic and continuous replacement of a clean filter screen, the company says, adding that “screen changing takes less than two minutes.”
Zimmer America says the advantage of the Gorilla Belt screen changer “lies in its automatic and continuous operation. The operation of the Gorilla Belt does not require any operator intervention.”
