ZB Group of Errenteria, Spain has introduced its Thor line of mobile hammermill shredders to the U.S. market.
The company also reports that it is opening a new North American facility, ZB North America Corp., based in Atlanta, to provide service and spare parts around the country.
The hammermill shredders are available with an internal width ranging from 60 inches to 85 inches and with drive motors ranging from 800 horsepower up to 2,000 horsepower. Pricing for the shredders starts at $1 million. Custom-designed downstream systems also are available, the company says.
ZB Group says three Thor units currently are operating in the United States, with the largest model, a Thor 2121 K, able to process entire cars.
The company says the shredder is the only mobile hammermill unit able to process whole vehicles, and that it offers a final product with excellent size and density of between 50 and 75 pounds per cubic foot in one pass.
