The Yaffe Company, headquartered in Muskogee, Okla., acquired the assets of Glickman Inc., a Wichita, Kan.-based operation Oct. 13th. The acquisition of Glickman, as well as its affiliated company, Kansas Metals Operating, is Yaffe’s first move into Kansas. Both the facilities operate at one location.
Glickman Inc. and Kansas Metals will continue regular operations under the name Glickman Metal Recycling LLC.
The Glickman family has operated Glickman Inc., a full-service scrap operation, since 1915, and Kansas Metals, the area's only automobile and appliance shredder, since 1994. The auto shredder is presently in operation.
After the death of the founder, his heirs looked to sell the facility to an interested party. Bill Cale, with Yaffe Co., said that the acquisition was “an opportunity.”
Yaffe is the largest full-service scrap processor in the region and now will have around a dozen scrap yards in Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri.
Glickman processes both ferrous and nonferrous metals at the facility.
