Xeriant Inc., Boca Raton, Florida, has completed the limited September production run for its eco-friendly composite construction panel Nexboard.
Primarily constructed from recycled plastic and fiber, Nexboard employs nanotechnology and is resistant to fire, water, cracking, abrasion, mold and insects. It is also designed to support green building certifications and meet building safety codes worldwide.
Production officially initiates the certification process, and a representative from the certification testing agency was present at the contract manufacturer to document quality control procedures and the manufacturing process. It also serves as an opportunity to provide product samples to prospective clients in the construction industry.
According to Xeriant, Nexboard’s features and capabilities make it suitable for replacing traditional building panels that underperform in extreme conditions while addressing the construction industry’s 60 percent resource consumption rate and 40 percent contribution to global CO2 emissions.
“The batch we ran [Sept. 21-27] showed that Nexboard can be made at scale and at the highest standards of quality and uniformity, which are critical accomplishments as we ramp up production,” says Keith Duffy, CEO of Xeriant. “The next step is to complete the certification tests themselves, which are being scheduled at the lab.”
