World Steel Association elects new officers

The board of directors of the World Steel Association (Worldsteel), Brussels, has elected the following new officers for 2017/2018 at the Worldsteel General Assembly in Brussels. The new officers will serve a one-year term:

• Chairman Kosei Shindo, representative director and president, Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corp.;
• Vice Chairman John Ferriola, chairman, CEO and president, Nucor Corp.;
• Vice Chairman Ohjoon Kwon, CEO, POSCO; and
• Treasurer Sajjan Jindal, chairman and managing director, JSW Steel Ltd.

The board of directors also elected the 2017/18 Executive Committee:

• Wolfgang Eder, Voestalpine AG;
• Ferriola;
• Heinrich Hiesinger, Thyssenkrupp AG;
• Jindal;
• André Johannpeter, Gerdau S.A.;
• Koji Kakigi, JFE Steel Corp.;
