New Jersey-based World Steel Dynamics (WSD) has announced the speaker and panelist roster for its 2023 Global Steel Dynamics Forum (GSDF), which will take place June 26-28 in New York.
Among companies represented on the program are electric arc furnace (EAF) steel producers Nucor Corp., Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI), Commercial Metals Co., Gerdau and SSAB Americas. Other steelmakers represented include Cleveland-Cliffs, Posco of South Korea, Ternium (which has mills in Mexico and South America), and Canada-based Stelco Inc.
Several of those companies are sending their CEOs to the stage, a list that includes: Leon Topalian of Nucor, Mark Millett of SDI, Barbara Smith of CMC, Lourenco Goncalves of Cleveland-Cliffs, Jeong-Woo Choi of Posco and Máximo Vedoya of Ternium.
Also on the roster is United States Sen. Joe Manchin (West Virginia) and steel industry analyst Lucas Pipes of B. Riley Securities. Executives from several steel industry technology and supplier companies, including Europe-based mill equipment providers Primetals Technologies, Tenova and Danieli & Co. S.p.A.
Trade groups also will be represented on the stage, with associations providing speakers or panelists including the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the World Steel Association, the Steel Manufacturers Association, the Association for Iron & Steel Technology, Alacero, Eurofer and the South East Asia Iron and Steel Institute.
WSD says its June forum, to be held at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square, has been organized to provide attendees with “unique insights and strategic developments from those in the know.
“At the GSDF, you’ll hear from the steel industry’s leading decision makers as to how they are steering their companies through [economic] challenges," WSD adds.
