Wisconsin Foundry Settles Environmental Lawsuit

International Truck and Engine Corp. ordered to pay $317,925.

International Truck and Engine Corp., operating a Waukesha, Wis., iron foundry, has been by ordered to pay $317,925 to settle the state of Wisconsin Department of Justice's environmental enforcement action relating to the company's violations of state water and air pollution laws since 1999.

According to the complaint, filed at the request of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Waukesha Manufacturing failed to update its Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, submit storm water compliance reports, and maintain Best Management Practices required for storm water pollution prevention. It also failed to perform air pollution control testing, monitoring and record-keeping required to ensure compliance with air emission limits.

According to the DNR, the Waukesha facility is now in full compliance with state storm water and air pollution laws.

Under the terms of the settlement, Waukesha Manufacturing must pay $317,925 in penalties and costs.
