Wisconsin Film & Bag has been named one of five companies in northeast Wisconsin to receive funding from the Wisconsin State Energy Program (SEP), which is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The company, a plastics film recycler and plastic bag manufacturer headquartered in Shawano, Wis., will receive a $1.8 million SEP loan to assist it in opening an industrial plastic film recycling center. The center will convert plastic scrap into resin pellets that will be used in the company’s film and bag-making facility.
Wisconsin Film & Bag will purchase new equipment for the facility that will permit the company to recycle 8,000 tons of industrial plastic scrap per year.
In announcing the loan recipients, Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle says, “My top priority has been to help companies and communities move forward and create good-paying jobs for Wisconsin families. We are moving Wisconsin forward in difficult national economic times by investing in our businesses and making them more efficient and competitive. With this funding, we will be able to help five companies upgrade their facilities and create good jobs in northeast Wisconsin.”
Also receiving SEP loans are Synchrotek, Oneida Energy, C.A. Lawton and Greenwood Fuels.
