Germany-based Wieland, one of the world's leading suppliers of semifinished copper and copper alloy products, has purchased Wrisco Industries Inc., a Palm Beach Gardens, Florida-based provider of aluminum products and services. The transaction closed Dec. 31, 2020.
“An exciting addition to Wieland Metal Services, Wrisco Industries strengthens our presence in specific aluminum markets,” says Greg Keown, president of Wieland Metal Services. “We view Wrisco as a highly strategic growth opportunity that will allow us to further expand our existing portfolio of products and services in North America.”
Wieland Metal Services, headquartered in Warwick, Rhode Island, is a processor and distributor of copper and copper alloy sheet, strip and foil; aluminum sheet; and coated aluminum products.
Wrisco Industries was founded in 1916 and has grown to become an industry leader in quality aluminum products and services, Wieland says in a news release about the purchase. In addition to its Florida headquarters, Wrisco operates four distribution centers in Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago and Edison, New Jersey. The company says the acquired business will continue to operate under the Wrisco name as it is transitioned and integrated into the Wieland Group.
The acquisition of Wrisco supports Wieland’s growth objectives in aluminum while further expanding its current aluminum product portfolio and access to adjacent industries, according to the company. The purchase stems from Wieland’s pursuit of specific growth opportunities and expansion of its customer service portfolio, specifically focused on North America.
