Norcross, Georgia-headquartered WestRock Co. has announced that Shan Cooper has been hired to the post of chief supply chain and technology officer; she will join the cimoany Feb. 29, 2016. In this new role, her responsibilities include WestRock’s supply chain and technology functions, as well as the company’s recycling business. Cooper will report to Chief Executive Officer Steve Voorhees.
“Shan is an accomplished business leader who will bring additional manufacturing, technology and supply chain expertise to WestRock,” Voorhees says. “She will play an important role in the development of our company, including helping us reach our $1 billion synergy and performance improvement goal by the end of our fiscal 2018.”
Cooper most recently served as vice president of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. and general manager of its Marietta, Georgia, facility which designs, produces, modifies and maintains military aircraft for the United States and countries around the world. She also served concurrently as Lockheed Martin Aeronautics vice president of business ethics. Previously, she served in a variety of leadership roles at Lockheed Martin and Lucent Technologies.
Cooper has received several national honors, including the Women of Color in Technology Corporate Responsibility Award and the YWCA Tribute to Women of Achievement. She was named Georgia Trend Magazine’s 2015 Most Respected Business Leader and Women of the Year 2015 by the American Association of University Women. She also received the 2013 Pioneer Award from US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine.
