
West Salem Machinery (WSM), Salem, Oregon, appointed Dan Garrett as director of WSM Parts & Service. Garrett has worked for WSM for more than 22 years. According to a news release from WSM, Garrett has a vast amount of experience that relates to this new role in the Parts and Service group.
“We consistently hear from our customers how important quick response for parts and service is to them,” says Mark Lyman, president of West Salem Machinery. “We want to ensure that our commitment is well understood by the industry and have further invested in our Parts and Service group by formally separating them from any new equipment responsibilities and adding personnel.”
“WSM has always placed an emphasis on customer service,” says Dan Garrett, director of Parts and Service, “but now we have an additional push to ensure that our customers and even customers who may have other brands are being helped and serviced in an expeditious fashion.”

WSM offers its equipment as individual components and complete processing systems. The company also has a size reduction and screening test facility in Salem where customers and prospective customers can have feedstock tested.
According to a news release from the company, the testing and refining of processes can result in improving customers’ operations or helping them to make more informed, confident equipment purchases. The test facility is equipped with a horizontal grinder, primary shredder, high-speed hammermill, full air discharge capabilities, disc screen, oscillating screen and screening equipment for sieve analysis. Depending on the amount of detail required, WSM cans supply complete reporting at its test facility, including sieve analysis and energy usage.
