Adam Weitsman, president of Upstate Shredding – Ben Weitsman, has been interviewed as source in a National Geographic Channel documentary on the Eiffel Tower.
The documentary, “Pricing the Priceless: Eiffel Tower,” includes interview clips with Adam Weitsman, who attempts to assign a scrap iron monetary value to the Paris landmark. The documentary also looks at the cost to rebuild the Eiffel Tower and the cost to purchase the landmark.
The episode first aired on the National Geographic Channel Dec. 24 and Dec. 28, 2011.
“The tower is an important symbol of French culture, romance and man’s ingenuity, but when you get right down to it, it’s made of iron, and iron has value,” says Weitsman. “That is one of our areas of expertise – the pricing and value of iron – and I was grateful to be able to contribute my knowledge to National Geographic.”
Portions of the program were shot at Upstate’s Owego, N.Y., location. The documentary included footage of the shredder in action, processing a pickup truck. Since the show was filmed, the company has installed a more powerful 10,000 horsepower Riverside Engineering Mega Shredder.
