WeirtonSteel announced plans to close one of its furnaces in Weirton, W.V., for up tothree month. The move is being done to reduce the inventory of steel.
According to the company the smaller of the steel plant’s furnaces will be idled,starting June 15. Roughly 200 workers will be laid off when the furnace shuts.
