Wayne Engineering, a manufacturer of refuse trucks based in Cedar Falls, Iowa, has introduced its new Quantam small-body rear loader. The newest addition to the fleet can be equipped to handle 1-to-6 cubic yard commercial containers without alterations to the tailgate, according to Wayne Engineering.
Additionally, the Quantam features a packing mechanism with a packer plate that sweeps the entire 70-inch wide tailgate and yields high compaction ratings of 800-900 pounds per yard, according to the company. The new loader is available in 6-to-10 cubic yard models. Further options include a single- or dual-cart tipper, container roll bar or winches and a rear-view color camera system.
