Wausau-Mosinee Paper Corp. has received Green Seal certification for a wide range of its Bay West EcoSoft towel and tissue products. According to the company it is the first producer to achieve such recognition for a complete line of towel and tissue products for the away-from-home market.
"Today, many facility and property managers are considering environmental issues when making buying decisions," said Thomas Howatt, president and CEO. "Achieving Green Seal certification will differentiate our products in the away-from-home market, providing additional sales opportunities in office buildings, hotels, schools, and health care facilities."
Before awarding the certification, Green Seal evaluated Wausau-Mosinee's EcoSoft products and conducted a quality-control audit of the company's mill in Middletown, Ohio. Certification criteria include recycled and post-consumer waste content, deinking and bleaching processes free of chlorine and other chemicals, and environmentally preferable product packaging.
