Wastequip Purchases Cascade Container

Company acquires Washington State manufacturer of roll-off, front-load and rear-load containers.

Wasequip Inc., a Cleveland-based manufacturer of waste handling, recycling and material handling equipment, has announced that it has purchased specific assets and liabilities of McLeskey Interprises Inc., dba Cascade Container.

Ridgefield, Wash.-based Cascade makes roll-off, front-load and rear-load containers and roll-off hoists for refuse and recycling providers in Oregon, Washington, California, Alaska, Hawaii and British Columbia.

“Purchasing Cascade will complement our Oregon operations and strengthen Wastequip’s ability to serve West Coast customers,” Robert C. Rasmussen, president and CEO of Wastequip Inc., says. “This will increase Wastequip’s manufacturing capabilities on the West Coast and will now allow us to not only manufacture a full line of containers, but also start to manufacture the full line of Wastequip compactors, roll–off hoists and hook hoists in the Pacific Northwest.”

According to the company, it will retain Cascade’s management team and employees and continue to manufacture waste-handling equipment at the Cascade facility under the name Wastequip Washington.

“We found Wastequip to be the perfect partner to carry on the tradition of Cascade,” Gary McLeskey, president of Cascade Container, says. He becomes the general manager of the Wastequip Northwest division.
