Wastequip Acquires Mountain Tarp

Wastequip Inc., Beachwood, Ohio, has announced that it has acquired Mountain Tarp, Middlesboro, Ky., a leading maker to tarping systems used in the construction and solid waste industries. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Mountain Tarp manufactures and distributes a variety of systems that are installed on belly and end-dump trailers, dump bodies, transfer trailers, roll-off containers, scrap containers and flat-bed trucks. The company has mounting facilities in Ravenna, Ohio; Louisa, Ky., and Monroe, Ohio.

Bob Rasmussen, president and CEO of Wastequip says the acquisition of Mountain Tarp, which has a strong presence in the construction industry, complements Wastequip’s Pioneer tarping brand, which has been focused on the waste industry.

According to a press release from the company, Wastequip will keep the Mountain Tarp brand name.
