WasteCap Nebraska announces has set a deadline of March 1 to submit requests for small grants for electronic scrap collection events. The grant money comes from the group’s e-Scrap Nebraska grant program.
Any community recycling program or business, public or private, within the state, regardless of size, can apply for a grant under the program. Funds are limited, and preference will be given to under-served communities in regards to electronics recycling opportunities. The matching grants cover the cost of recycling a limited number of items, with additional items requiring the participant to pay a nominal fee.
The grant program was made possible through a grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust. It is intended to offset the costs of planning and executing electronic scrap collection events and create consistency among events in Nebraska.
Successful grant recipients will receive planning assistance from WasteCap Nebraska staff and be provided with educational and marketing materials. Participating recyclers will be chosen based on their adherence to best management practices, collection event experience and adherence to a negotiated rate.
Applications are available at www.wastecapne.org and will be processed promptly until the fund is exhausted.
