WasteCap of Lincoln, which, for the past 10+ years has helped businesses in Lincoln, Neb., with their recycling and waste management needs, has officially changed its name and coverage. The organization offers on-site waste assessments, economic and environmental cost/benefit analysis, recycling market research and development and procurement of recycled-content products.
Starting March 1, the group is expanding its coverage to include all of the state of Nebraska. Along with the change in coverage, the non-profit cooperative is changing its name to WasteCap Nebraska.
Carrie Hakenkamp, executive director of WasteCap Nebraska, says that two of the first projects the newly designed organization will be tackling will be business needs assessments in Grand Island and Columbus. The project is being funded through a grant from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Qualilty.
Hakenkamp also notes that the organization is seeking grant money through the state’s Environmental Trust Fund to develop a project to recycle fluorescent light bulbs.
