“Better Waste has established excellent relationships within the Southern Louisiana business community throughout the years,” says Waste Pro President, Deuce McAllister. “We were excited to find a company that shares our vision and to welcome a team of professionals who are as committed as we are to providing high levels of service to their customers.”
This acquisition is a strategic initiative, which will allow Waste Pro to expand its local service capability to meet the needs of the growing Terrebonne Parish commercial and industrial community and beyond, the company says.
“Waste Pro was an ideal partner for Better Waste. We have been doing business in this region for several decades, so we wanted to partner with a company that stays connected locally but has the financial resources to meet whatever needs arise in Southern Louisiana. We had no interest in partnering with large public waste companies,” says Better Waste CEO, Byron Talbot. “Partnering with Waste Pro allows us to focus 100 percent on our core construction business [Byron E. Talbot Contractor].”
Waste Pro initially entered the Terrebonne Parish market in June of 2016, when the company was awarded a municipal contract to handle residential waste collection, adding 43,000 households to its Louisiana service footprint.
“When we started the Terrebonne Parish residential service, we gained a foothold” says Tim Herman, Waste Pro senior vice president and chief development officer. “90 days later, with the acquisition of Better Waste, we’ve reached a stronghold in Southern Louisiana and this allows us to effectively meet the waste service needs of the entire residential, government, and business community.”
Waste Pro serves more than 2 million residential and 40,000 commercial customers from over 75 operating locations and maintains more than 235 exclusive municipal contracts and franchises in nine southeastern states.
