Waste Holdings Purchases Two Operations

Waste Holdings Inc. expands its presence in the Mississippi Valley.

Waste Holdings Inc. of Raleigh, a regional, non-hazardous solid waste services company, announced May 6 the acquisition of American Disposal LLC and the purchase of the commercial customer accounts of Hudgins Disposal Inc. Both acquisitions are within the Company's Mississippi Valley Division.

American Disposal LLC, which operates in the Memphis, Tenn., market, provides hauling services to the construction industry. Annualized revenues currently are estimated at $300,000. This acquisition should strengthen the Waste Holdings’ current market share, while supplying additional tonnage to its existing landfill operation.  The overall impact expected is improved margins through waste stream internalization.

Hudgins Disposal Inc. is a long standing hauling and disposal company operating in the Nashville, Tennessee, market.  Annualized revenues currently are estimated at $350,000.  Hudgins Disposal will continue to service residential customers, but the commercial accounts will be transitioned to Waste Holdings.

Mr. Jim J. Becher, Vice President of the Mississippi Valley Division of Waste Holdings, said, "Our arrangement with Hudgins Disposal will allow both companies to utilize their individual strengths to continue to provide quality services the Hudgins' customers have come to expect."

Waste Holdings Inc. is a vertically integrated solid waste services company that provides collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services to commercial, industrial and residential customers in North and South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
