Waste Connections, Inc. announced that it has signed definitive purchase agreements with three predominantly franchise companies with approximately $32 million in annualized revenue. These operations include the Green Team of San Jose, a franchise collection and recycling operation servicing a portion of the San Jose, Calif., market, Green Waste of Tehema, a franchise collection and landfill operation servicing Red Bluff, Calif., and a franchise collection company in Oregon.
Ronald Mittelstaedt, chairman and CEO, said, "We are very excited to announce this series of acquisitions. With these transactions, we have signed definitive agreements with over half of our annualized acquisition goal by March 1st. In addition, these operations are in exclusive market areas, enhancing our overall balance between exclusive and competitive markets. Because of the consents involved, the transactions may not close until later in the second quarter or possibly even later.
“However, this time table allows us to begin planning for the integration process and to continue with other business development efforts for the remainder of 2003. These companies make great additions to the Waste Connections base and continue with our strategy of pursuing quality companies which have sustainable business models."Latest from Recycling Today
