Vulcan Lead Inc. announced that it is the first non-ferrous foundry in the United States to receive the new ISO 9001:2000 standards certification.
“When the new standards were issued, it was our goal to immediately meet the qualifications necessary to become re-certified,” stated Mike Dziekan, quality assurance manager, Vulcan Lead Inc. “It took a team effort to make this happen. The project received immediate support from all employees.”
The majority of industries now require ISO 9000 registration of their vendors. The Non-Ferrous Founders Society certifies the greater part of non-ferrous foundries in the United States to the ISO standards.
Commented NFFS, ”Vulcan Lead Inc. of Milwaukee, WI is the first non-ferrous foundry in the United States to be certified to the new standard.” The NFFS audit team also indicated that Vulcan Lead underwent a rigorous three-day audit review of all systems and procedures. The team found not only an outstanding quality program, but also an outstanding way of doing business, providing better service to Vulcan Lead customers.
