Volvo Rents, Shippensburg, Pa., has acquired Excel Rentals, a two-location construction equipment rental company based in California.
Volvo Rents, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Volvo Group, operates a network of company-owned rental stores and franchised rental stores in North America. Each of the stores offer a line of equipment for the construction, commercial and industrial markets, as well as an extensive line of Volvo compact excavators, compactors, wheel loaders, backhoe loaders, compaction equipment and skid steer loaders.
According to Volvo, Excel’s Temecula, Calif., location is currently open, while its San Jacinto, Calif., location is expected to be opened by the first quarter of 2012.
“Lynn Ladenes (the head of Excel) is truly an industry veteran and Excel’s long-time presence in Southern California adds to our strategic growth,” Michael Crouch, Volvo Rents vice president of business development, says. “Excel anchors the footprint of the West Region for Region VP Tim Herzog and his staff in the area.”
Ladenes continues, “The Volvo name inspires confidence worldwide and will no doubt elevate our stores to the big leagues. As a member of the global Volvo family of business, the stores will have access to some of the most advanced equipment, technology and marketing in the world.”
