For the first time ever, the Texas Recycling Summit, hosted by State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR), Austin, Texas, will be combined with STAR’s Texas Compost Summit.
The new event, called the Texas Recycling and Composting Summit, will be online from Oct. 5-9.
Registration for the event, for both attendees and exhibitors, is now open.
STAR will use a virtual conference platform for networking events, face-to-face exhibitor and attendee interactions.
Over the five days, more than 25 sessions will be featured with the theme "rethinking recycling.”
Some of the speakers include:
- Tom Szaky, CEO of TerraCycle, speaking about “recycling and reuse before, during and after COVID-19;”
- “The environmental industry's race problem: Re-thinking recycling and reuse and the narrative around food, farming, and fashion,” with panelists from the city of Austin, Huston-Tillotson University, McComb-Veazey Community Coterie, The Cook’s Nook and No Waste; and
- “Composting and reducing food waste: It’s still important,” with panelists from Rubicon Technologies, the city of Fort Worth and Risa Weinberger & Associates.
