The Vietnam Pulp and Paper Association (VPPA) South Branch and RuiZhiXin Consulting, a partner firm of Fastmarkets RISI, have announced they will co-host host the Second ASEAN Pulp and Paper Summit this November in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The conference, which carries the theme “Towards a More Circular World,” will take place Nov. 10-11, 2025, tentatively at the Sheraton Saigon Opera Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

VPPA and RuiZhiXin Consulting say the event has been designed to bring together key stakeholders to discuss market prospects, growth strategy, regulation and compliance, innovation and circular economy strategies in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region’s pulp and paper industry.

The first ASEAN Pulp and Paper Summit was held last November in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and attracted more than 215 paper, packaging and recycling sector participants from 23 countries, according to the event’s organizers.

This year’s summit features several sessions covering paper and board recycling, with speakers and panelists in those sessions including Hanna Zhao of RISI, Bill Moore of Atlanta-based Moore & Associates and Tang Yanju of the China Resource Recycling Association (CRRA).

VPPA and RuiZhiXin Consulting say the overall event will offer insights from “global experts and senior executives” addressing topics including “navigating new regulations on forest products trading, searching for new growth drivers and embracing green packaging solutions.”

In addition to VPPA and RuiZhiXin Consulting, the event is being supported by the Indonesian Pulp and Paper Association, the Malaysia Pulp and Paper Manufacturers Association, the China Paper and Pulp Industry Chamber of Commerce, and the China Resource Recycling Association, says the Vietnamese trade group.
