Veolia Environmental Services has opened its first commercial materials recycling facility in Castle Donington, United Kingdom.
The £500,000 (US$757,000) facility will sort commingled paper, old corrugated containers, cans and plastics collected from around 2,500 commercial customers in the area. The facility will be able to handle up to 30,000 metric tons of recyclables per year. In addition to commercially generated material, the MRF will take in material from municipal recyclables from the general area.
