Veolia ES Solid Waste Inc., Milwaukee, Wis., has acquired the assets of three solid waste collection companies: JC Sanitation LLC, McClellandtown, Pa.; Treesmith Inc., Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and Suburban Disposal and Recycling Inc., Warrensburg, Ill. According to a Veolia release, the acquisitions will be treated as tuck-in operations and will be folded into Veolia’s existing operations.
“These acquisitions align with our strategy of purchasing assets of smaller, independent waste companies in order to expand Veolia’s existing operations within these integrated markets,” says Jim Long, president and CEO of Veolia ES Solid Waste Inc. “We are pleased to have all three of these businesses become a part of our company.”
The acquisition of JC Sanitation includes four residential and commercial routes and one roll-off route, which will be tucked into existing operations at Veolia’s McClellandtown facility. Volumes from the routes will be internalized at Veolia’s Chestnut Valley landfill in McClellandtown, Pa.
Jim Collins, owner of JC Sanitation, will become operations manager and JC Sanitation’s drivers have been offered employment with Veolia ES Solid Waste of PA Inc.
Assets from Treesmith include two roll-off trucks and containers. The assets will be added to Veolia’s Tuscaloosa, Ala. operation. Veolia will take over the company’s existing customer routes and internalize the collected construction and demolition waste at Veolia ES’s Eagle Bluff landfill in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
